New Study: Investors spend $100 billion a year trying to beat the market

A study published in the August edition of The Journal of Finance concludes that investors spend over $100 billion a year trying to beat the market.

The report by Professor Kenneth French, president of the American Finance Association, finds that investors would improve returns by 67 basis points by switching from mutual funds or an active trading strategy to ETFs.  More on the study in Keeping Up.
