Lehman Brothers ETNs Suspended, Delisting Expected

In a filing with the SEC, Lehman Brothers reported that trading in its securties had been halted on the NYSE and Amex. The trading halt was effective on September 17 on the NYSE and on September 18 on Amex.

Green Transportation ETF Starts Trading

The PowerShares Global Progressive Transportation Portfolio (PTRP) began trading today on Nasdaq. The new fund tracks an index of global companies focused on technologies that use greener, more efficient sources of energy that enable cleaner, less costly and more efficient means of transportation.

ETF Assets Grow $4.7 Billion in August

According to a report by State Street, US ETF assets grew by $4.7 billion or 0.8% in August to a total of $582 billion as rising US equity and bond prices offset declines in commodity prices and International stocks.

SB-1 fund Converts to ETF

Claymore announced the listing of the Claymore/Raymond James SB-1 Equity ETF (RYJ). The new ETF tracks the SB-1 Equity Index which is composed of all equity securities rated Strong Buy 1 (“SB-1”) by Raymond James & Associates.
